Gardner Campbell on Hugh Blackmer

This is meant to be a trackback to Gardner’s posting: Hugh Blackmer on User Interface.

In the second half of today’s workshop on collaborative learning, the point was made that we’re seeing a convergence (finally!) of the content/skills dichotomy in education. I found myself thinking (a) that that’s right on point, and (b) that maybe the vision that Gardner and I and others are trying to articulate is part of that convergence, that thinking about content and skills is a very low level notion of education, that genuine education occurs when students understand how to practice what the discipline teaches, that is, they can practise the art and they understand what they’re doing.
