Last month I posted on the theory of the long tail. I think I came across another example of the type of niche market supported by the long tail. I subscribe to the Social Science Research Network, which among other things circulates working papers prior to formal publication.
This morning I received notice from SSRN of a new legal abstracting journal, India Law Abstracts, which “will publish abstracts of working papers, forthcoming articles, and recently published articles related to Law in India or Legal Issues impacting India.” I can’t imagine the demand would be large enough in this country to support print publication of a journal like this here, but with the internet it is possible to exploit he long tail.
