My non-academic friends have a tendency of remarking, “It must be nice to have nothing to do for three months.” Yeah, right. I am not complaining, however. This blog may be a bit quiet for the next few days as I am attending a teaching workshop sponsored by the American Economic Association. The workshop is being held at the Hotel Santa Fe in New Mexico. For my friends at home, the temperature is expected to reach 76 F today with the humidity in the teens for most of the day. And for my friends who worry about inappropriate use of state funds, this trip is on me. I writing from my laptop using the hotel’s wireless internet access, while waiting for friends from Middlebury College–we’re headed out to Bandelier National Monument this morning. The workshop begins after lunch today. Then the real work begins.
