Chris Dede provides a fascinating set of predictions for the future of higher education in Chapter 15 of Educating the Net Generation. Think of this as a complement to 2006 Horizon Report, focusing on the longer time frames. I think this vision is probably 5+ years away (think of this as at least University 2.1), but we may be surprised.
Very thoughtful comments of what planners for higher education should be considering for the future with respect to faculty development, physical plant, networks, the works. I’d consider this an important read for any administrator with an interest in this area.
